Warm-Up
Preparatory exercises performed before the main workout to prepare the body.
A proper warm-up prepares your body for exercise by increasing heart rate, blood flow to muscles, and joint mobility. It typically includes general cardio (5-10 minutes), dynamic stretching, and movement-specific preparation. Warming up reduces injury risk, improves performance, and enhances the mind-muscle connection. Never skip your warm-up, especially before heavy lifting.
Examples
- 5 minutes of light cardio
- Dynamic stretches like leg swings
- Warm-up sets before working weight
