Overtraining
A state of chronic fatigue and decreased performance from excessive training without adequate recovery.
Overtraining syndrome occurs when training exceeds recovery capacity for extended periods. Symptoms include persistent fatigue, decreased performance, mood changes, and increased illness. True overtraining is rare and takes weeks to develop. Most people experience overreaching, which resolves with rest. Prevention requires balancing training stress with recovery.
