Recovery
Rest Day
A day without training to allow recovery and adaptation.
Rest days are essential for recovery and growth. Muscle grows during rest, not during training. Most people need 1-3 rest days per week depending on training intensity, sleep quality, and stress levels. Active recovery (light movement) can be done on rest days without impairing recovery.
Examples
- 1-3 rest days per week typically
- Complete rest or light activity
- When muscle growth actually occurs
