Recovery
Active Recovery
Low-intensity movement performed to enhance recovery between hard workouts.
Active recovery involves performing low-intensity activities (walking, cycling, swimming) on rest days to promote blood flow and recovery without adding training stress. It can reduce muscle soreness and maintain mobility better than complete rest. Intensity should be very low - truly easy movement.
Examples
- 20-30 minute easy walk
- Light swimming or cycling
- Zone 1 heart rate activity
