Beta-Alanine

An amino acid that buffers acid buildup in muscles during high-intensity exercise.

Beta-alanine is a non-essential amino acid that increases muscle carnosine levels. Carnosine buffers hydrogen ions, delaying the burn and fatigue during high-intensity exercise lasting 1-4 minutes. The tingles (paresthesia) are harmless. Benefits accumulate over weeks of supplementation; timing doesn't matter.

Examples

  • 3-5g daily for saturation
  • Causes harmless tingling
  • Benefits high-rep, high-intensity work
