Training Frequency
How often you train a muscle group or perform a workout within a given period.
Training frequency refers to how many times per week you train each muscle group. Research suggests training each muscle 2-3 times per week may be optimal for growth, as it distributes volume and provides more frequent growth stimuli. Higher frequency requires less volume per session to manage fatigue.
Examples
- Training chest 2× per week
- Full body 3× per week = high frequency
- Bro split = 1× per week frequency
