Supercompensation
The body adapting beyond baseline levels after recovery from training stress.
Supercompensation is the process where the body recovers from training stress and adapts to handle greater stress in the future. After adequate recovery, fitness levels temporarily exceed pre-training levels. Training during this supercompensation window maximizes progress. Training too soon or too late misses this optimal window.
