Prebiotics
Non-digestible fibers that feed beneficial gut bacteria.
Prebiotics are types of fiber that humans cannot digest but that feed beneficial gut bacteria. When gut bacteria ferment prebiotics, they produce short-chain fatty acids that support colon health. Good sources include onions, garlic, leeks, asparagus, bananas, and oats. Prebiotics support a healthy microbiome.
