Electrolytes

Minerals that carry electrical charges and regulate body functions.

Electrolytes are minerals including sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and chloride that dissolve in body fluids and carry electrical charges. They regulate fluid balance, muscle contractions, nerve function, and pH. Electrolytes are lost through sweat and need replacement during prolonged exercise or in hot conditions.
