Anatomy
Core
The muscles of the midsection that stabilize the spine and pelvis.
The core includes the rectus abdominis (six-pack), obliques (sides), transverse abdominis (deep stabilizer), and lower back muscles. A strong core is essential for all athletic movements and injury prevention. The core stabilizes the spine during exercises and transfers force between upper and lower body. Train core with both anti-movement (planks) and dynamic (crunches) exercises.
