Carbohydrates
A macronutrient that provides energy, especially important for high-intensity exercise.
Carbohydrates are the bodys preferred fuel source for high-intensity activity, stored as glycogen in muscles and liver. They provide 4 calories per gram and are not essential but are important for performance and recovery. Sources include grains, fruits, vegetables, and sugars. Fiber is a type of carbohydrate that aids digestion.
