3Compare your Wilks to other female lifters, not male lifters
4Track your Wilks over time to measure relative strength improvement
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good Wilks score for a woman?
Wilks 250-300 is a solid intermediate female lifter. 300-350 is competitive regionally. 400+ is elite. World-class female powerlifters score 450-550+.
Is Wilks or DOTS better?
Both serve the same purpose. DOTS and Goodlift (GL) are newer formulas gaining popularity. Some federations now use these instead of Wilks. Check which your federation uses.
Does the Wilks formula favour lighter or heavier lifters?
The Wilks formula has been criticised for slightly favouring lighter lifters in the female formula. This is one reason newer alternatives like DOTS were developed.
