Why you'll love this recipe

This high-protein overnight oats recipe is the perfect solution for busy mornings. With 30g of protein per serving, it keeps you full until lunch and supports your fitness goals. Best of all, you can prepare it the night before in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 50g rolled oats
  • 200ml milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 30g protein powder (vanilla or unflavoured)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 100g Greek yoghurt
  • Handful of berries (fresh or frozen)
  • Drizzle of honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the base: Add the rolled oats, milk, protein powder, and chia seeds to a jar or container. Stir well to combine, ensuring no lumps of protein powder remain.

  2. Add the peanut butter: Drop the peanut butter into the mixture. You can swirl it through or leave it in a dollop for texture variation.

  3. Refrigerate: Cover the container and place it in the fridge for at least 4 hours, or ideally overnight. The oats will absorb the liquid and become soft and creamy.

  4. Serve: In the morning, give the oats a good stir. Top with Greek yoghurt and fresh berries. Add a drizzle of honey if you prefer extra sweetness.

Tips for success

  • Make it thicker or thinner: Adjust the milk quantity to your preference. Less milk gives you a thicker, more pudding-like texture.

  • Meal prep friendly: Make 5 jars on Sunday for the whole week. They keep well in the fridge for up to 5 days.

  • Vary your toppings: Try sliced banana and dark chocolate chips, apple and cinnamon, or mango and coconut.

Variations

  • Chocolate version: Use chocolate protein powder and add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder.
  • Vegan version: Use plant-based protein powder, plant milk, and coconut yoghurt.
  • Lower calorie: Skip the peanut butter and use water instead of milk.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Do not freeze, as the texture becomes unpleasant when thawed.
