Why you'll love this recipe

This is dessert disguised as nutrition. The combination of chocolate and peanut butter is unbeatable, and you're getting serious protein to support muscle recovery.

Ingredients

  • 30g chocolate protein powder
  • 250ml milk (dairy or unsweetened almond)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • Ice cubes (if banana isn't frozen)
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon honey if more sweetness desired

Instructions

  1. Add liquids first: Pour milk into blender.

  2. Add remaining ingredients: Add protein powder, peanut butter, banana, and cocoa powder.

  3. Blend until smooth: Blend on high for 60-90 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.

  4. Adjust consistency: Add more milk if too thick, more ice if too thin.

  5. Serve: Pour into a tall glass. Optionally drizzle with peanut butter on top.

Tips for success

  • Frozen banana is key: Creates thick, milkshake-like texture.
  • Natural peanut butter: Just peanuts and salt; stir well first.
  • Blend protein powder well: Avoid lumps by adding liquid first.

Variations

  • Almond butter: Use instead of peanut butter for different flavour.
  • Add oats: Blend in 30g oats for extra carbs and fibre.
  • Mocha: Add a shot of espresso.
  • Mint chocolate: Add 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract.

Storage

Best consumed immediately. Can refrigerate up to 4 hours but will separate.
