Pre-Workout Nutrition

Food consumed before training to fuel performance.

Pre-workout nutrition provides energy for training. Eating 1-3 hours before exercise allows digestion while maintaining blood sugar and glycogen. A meal with carbs and protein works well. Training fasted is fine for moderate exercise but may impair intense or prolonged training. Individual tolerance varies.

Examples

  • Oatmeal and eggs 2 hours before
  • Banana and protein shake 1 hour before
  • Individual tolerance varies
