Glutes (Gluteal Muscles)
The muscles of the buttocks, including gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus.
The glutes are the largest and most powerful muscles in the body. The gluteus maximus is the main hip extensor, essential for squatting, deadlifting, and athletic performance. Strong glutes improve posture, reduce lower back pain, and enhance athletic power. Hip thrusts, squats, and deadlifts effectively target the glutes.
Examples
- Hip thrusts directly target glute max
- Glute bridges activate the glutes
- Strong glutes improve squat performance
